A Week of Good Behavior – and Minor (?) Infractions

A Week of Good Behavior – and Minor (?) Infractions

So I made it to yoga six days out of seven, and did two classes for three of those days. I’ve also been sorta kinda good with my diet. Of course, I’ve been a royal bore and have been turning down a lot of invitations to meet up.

Here’s how my week went:

  • May 18 – Vinyasa Yoga Chill
  • May 19 – Hatha Yoga (Would have done a second class, but I had errands to run in Makati plus a dinner appointment.)

At Tsukiji with Sylvia. Had some – not a lot – of sushi and sake, which violated the no rice and no alcohol rule. I also had a few glasses of wine with Malu at Cirkulo beforehand. Eek! We were toasting to my birthday! I couldn’t say no! And wine is a food group anyway.

  • May 20 – Yoga Basics, Vinyasa Yoga Chill
  • May 21 – Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga Chill
  • May 22 – Hungover

Because I was missing the Full Moon Party in Puerto Galera, I went to CloseUp’s Forever Summer party at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds instead. The no-alcohol rule was violated once again. Started out with vodka-Sprites, then good sense prevailed and I ditched the Sprite. Hence the hangover.

  • May 23 – Yoga Basics, Vinyasa Yoga Chill

And then Sandy came to visit and we had fish and squid balls at the street corner. Carb and sugar violations!

  • May 24 -Hatha Yoga (Would have gone to a second class but had an afternoon salon appointment.)

If I hadn’t procrastinated all week long, I could have paid extra for two more classes this morning but, alas, I did all my packing for possibly five (maybe more) trips today.

Believe it or not, I really have been mostly good with my diet. I actually sat at Green Pastures, one of my favourite restaurants, with my family last Sunday night, at a table full of cheese and pasta, and all I had was cauliflower rice, which I must admit I love and could eat everyday. And, despite more minor food violations yesterday and today, I have lost three kilos already so I’m happy and I feel great!

I’d love to say that I’m going to keep at it, but I am now in Cebu, en route to Tokyo tomorrow morning. There will be no yoga-ing or dieting in Tokyo. That much I know. My luggage contains everything I could find in my closet that resembles a potato sack.

Ah, shit. Here we go again…
