Yes, I made it. Even if I felt like hurling while we were warming up. It’s a good thing the WOD was easy today. Well, it was only easy because I refused (as I always do) to lift anything heavy.
WOD was Grace:
30 clean and jerks, for time. (Rx: 135 lbs. for men, 95 lbs. for women.)
If we couldn’t do at least 70% of Rx (105 lbs. for men and 75 lbs. for women), then we had to do 60 reps. And since we had to do the same number of reps whether we used a 35-lb. bar or a 55-lb. barbell, it was a total no-brainer really.
RJ looked at me quizzically: “You can’t be serious about lifting that?”
Me: “I am.”
RJ: “Okay, what are your fitness goals?”
(I got nervous that he was about to start a heart-to-heart with me.)
“Don’t tell me you still want to lose weight.”
Me: “I’m hungover. I have no fitness goals.”

RJ had to laugh. “Okay, I’ll accept that.” He was nice enough to look out for me while I was doing my first ten clean and jerks. I took my time and finished in 8:10 minutes. And since I knew I was being a sissy, I continued doing more reps, working on my form with RJ for a few more minutes. (Of course, if I had tried to lift anything heavier, I’m sure whatever form I had would be tossed over a tree like a panda.)
I did 50 sit-ups before leaving.
