CrossFit, 29 November 2011, 12:30 PM

I did go to bed right after dinner, as promised, except that I had never been more awake in my life. I tossed and turned till maybe around 4 AM. First, with an an eye mask on. Then with a pillow over my head. Then with iPhone in hand, playing extreme Sudoku.

Rinse and repeat cycle.

Still, I was awake and alert before 9 AM. I checked my e-mails, wrote a blog entry, made tentative plans to go to ZoukOut in Singapore and, predictably, as soon as noon time approached and it was time to go to CrossFit, I started feeling light-headed. The heaping spoonfuls of peanut butter I had just taken didn’t help. I wanted to hurl.

I will never mass murder that many brain cells in one weekend ever again. I will never…

Right.

Check out the WOD on the left and the warm-up on the right.

400 m. jog??? Umm… Let’s make that a 400 m. row.

Even then, I wanted to pass out and throw up at the same time after warming up. (Oh, by the way, I was finally cold-and-cough-free as of yesterday. Total number of days sick: 12.)

So WOD was 3 rounds. Each round was 1 minute each of the following:

  • push jerk – I only lifted the 35-lb. bar. I did 20 reps for each round.
  • shoot throughs – Yeeeeeah, my shoot throughs looked nothing like that video. I did 8 reps for each round.
  • V-hold – Was able to hold for the required minute. Karen subtracted 10 points from anyone who lost the hold.
  • sumo deadlift high-pulls – I did Rx and did 16/18/15 reps.
  • pull-ups – Yep, I’m still using the green band and did 15 reps for each round.
  • rest

My total score was 178.
