Food Reco: The Best Ice Cream

Food Reco: The Best Ice Cream

Hands down, the best ice cream in the Philippines.

I’ve tried their Cookie Dough, Butter Pecan, and Salted Caramel. My preferences are in that order. (I must say that the Salted Caramel didn’t stand a chance against the Cookie Dough and Butter Pecan though.)

Wow.

They certainly don’t skimp on ingredients. It was just one spoonful after another of creamy pleasure. I could have gone through an entire pint of Cookie Dough. And Butter Pecan. Drool…

This quality of ice cream doesn’t come cheap. It’s P350 a pint, only slightly cheaper than Haagen Dazs. The family that makes it also own a dairy farm so they only use fresh cream and milk, none of that powdered stuff. Their pints should come with warning labels: Once you try this, you may not be content with any other ice cream.

Orders have to be made, at least, one day in advance and can be picked up from their building any time of day or night as they have a freezer located near the lobby which the security guard has access to.

Update: 29 June 2011

I got the rest of my family to try the different flavors, and these were how they stacked:

  1. Butter Pecan – Everybody loved this. My parents and sister-in-law thought it was the best of the three.
  2. Cookie Dough – This – for me, my brother and two nephews – was the best. Although my parents and sister-in-law liked it, they found it too sweet. It was perfect for me.
  3. Salted Caramel – This was just okay. Kinda blah actually. I, personally, couldn’t taste the salt or the caramel. Everyone found it too sweet.
