My Soon-To-Be Fitness Tracker: The New Vívosmart HR

So, last week, I lost my phone (and wallet) at Tattoo, the jungle disco in Siargao. No biggie. I needed a new phone (and wallet) anyway.

So I got a new phone (and wallet, sans money), but had trouble pairing it with my fitness tracker, the Garmin vívosmart. So I shot Garmin an email and got this reply:

Dear Gai Olivares,

Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I will be happy to assist you with this.

We apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced.

We would like to exchange your defective device for a brand new Vivosmart HR. Please follow the link below, so you can become familiar with the device and choose the version you would like.

Did you click on that link??? Do you understand why I nearly peed in my pants??? This, ladies and gentlemen, is the new vívosmart HR:

I always thought that the vívosmart’s design was really sexy. I really liked that it was just a plain black band that came to life only when you tapped it. And, even with its sleek design, it was also waterproof, unlike its bulkier counterparts on the market. But it lacked the crucial heart rate monitor, which made it inferior to other fitness trackers.

But now that Garmin has finally integrated one into their newest model, with all its other features, I think the vívosmart HR just became a serious contender in the realm of fitness trackers.

I can’t wait for mine! I’m almost thankful that my phone (but not my wallet) got stolen!

In the meantime, I’ve started recording my activities on my phone’s (not my wallet’s) calendar.

FYI, I’ve been very active. Have been doing yoga, some bicycling, swimming, stand-up paddle boarding, and I’ve started rebounding again. Happy days!
