We flew in to Shiraz early this morning.

The Arg (Citadel) of Karim Khan in Shiraz.
It’s 6 PM now and everyone’s either napping or poking around at the bazaar, which is really quite fabulous – so much better than the Tehran bazaar – but I haven’t the energy to trek all the way there and make it back to the hotel in time for dinner.

A shopkeeper at the Shiraz Bazaar.
I have a new roommate though. (Yay!) It’s Jing. And maybe Gareth, who’s supposed to be rooming with Jan, but since Jing and I have a really big room – and an extra bed, Gareth would rather stay with us.

The courtyard of Niayesh Boutique Hotel in Shiraz. As I write, some guys are playing the guitar and singing in the courtyard.
I also, finally, have a SIM card. My Iranian number is +98-930-255-3638. I’ve talked to my new friends and I’ve been invited to stay at someone’s home when I get back to Tehran, which I am really looking forward to.
Shower time! Going out to dinner then, hopefully, having a clandestine party tonight. 😉
