From my doc: Congratulations! You’re fine. Uric acid levels can be modified by keeping your diet low in purines. [Purines??? ]Avoid legumes[Done.], shellfish[What?!], sardines[What?], dark green leafy vegetables [That would explain it. It’s only the cornerstone of fucking raw food.], organ meat[- I guess I shouldn’t have had that chicharon bulaklak at Hai Chix last Tuesday.]. If you can’t help it, drink lots of water after. Low WBC ( yours isn’t that low) and high lymphocytes usually means you’re under stress or fatigued.

To which I responded quite a few things, including: But I’m not stressed!
Her final analysis: Aside from your high uric acid and low albumin levels (- protein that you consume becomes albumin in the body), for which I blame your totally healthy raw food diet, your WBC appears to say that you’ve successfully managed to stress yourself out without your knowing it.

I swear I’m not stressed!
I did feel the start of a cold descending on me as my plane touched down in Manila and, as of this writing, have a full-blown cold and cough. That must be the stress/fatigue that reflected in my test results.
Bear in mind that I had the blood test done one day after I had gotten off the raw food diet and had already consumed the following protein:
- one fried egg
- a lot of bacon
- two hard-boiled eggs
- a hand full of nuts
- nilagang baka (boiled beef)
And still my albumin, while within normal range, is on the low end. Well, maybe not anymore, considering what I’ve been eating the past few days…
And so concludes the Great Raw Food Experiment.
