Check-out the warm-up:

800 m. run?! That’s a WOD on its own! I rowed (and ran out of steam at 300 m.) and I still don’t know what a handstand hold is.

This was a nasty bitch of a WOD. Short, but designed for maximum damage:

I was grouped with Noel, Erin and Klaire. Noel started off setting the group’s pace with the 200 m. sprint, while Erin did the clean and jerks. I started off with the kettlebell sit-ups and Klaire did the alternate kettlebell swings.

I’d pull up a video of the kind of sit-ups we were required to do but can’t find any. From a lying position (with our legs open and folded up in the shape of a diamond), holding the kettlebell by the horns, we had to lift it over our heads, bring it back towards the abdomen, crunch up with it into a standing position and then lift the kettlebell overhead. It sounds complicated but is actually easy if you’ve got good balance which I’m surprised I have.

Of course, when it was my turn to run, the pace slowed considerably. Hey, I was running against Joaquin, who’s in top shape! Although I could be running against a walrus and I’d still lose. The good thing about slowing things down though is that we were able to get more reps in so that, in the end, even if we didn’t finish first, we won because of our number of reps.

This is Joaquin, tire-flipping:

They were required to jump in and out of the tire before flipping it again.
