So last week was an even worse disaster than the previous two. Not only did I work out only twice during the course of the week (- I did Krav Maga on Wednesday and Thursday), I also ditched my Paleo diet completely. In Hong Kong, that was understandable, and I was actually quite reasonable over there and, because I walked so much, I managed to keep my weight down. It was when I got back to Manila that all reason flew out the window.
As soon as I got back from Hong Kong last Tuesday, I went to my aunt’s birthday dinner and her daughter-in-law brought those yummy crinkles from ADB which, in my opinion, are the best crinkles in town. (They’re best had chilled or frozen so that they’re cold on the outside but nice and gooey on the inside.) My cousin gave me a box to take home and – I swear! – they called my name every single night until all of them were silenced in my tummy.

Evil ADB crinkles. Nooooo!!! (Internet file photo.)
That was Tuesday. I went to Krav Maga, Wednesday and Thursday. And then it was Friday the 13th, and I partied and partied till it was almost Sunday and, by the time it was over, I was so famished, I ate everything I could get my hands on. Rice, noodles, cake, you name it.
It’s Monday and I am still not sure if I’m alive… I’m still hungry though.
And I’m going away on another trip on Friday so it seems pointless to get back to doing Paleo. I’m still doing it anyway. At least when I am at home. It’s quite another story when I am out of the house.
(FYI, everything at Kasbah is excellent, although it might get more than a little bit noisy if you dine late since they have live performers and like to crank it up as the night wears on; the chanterelle specials at Cirkulo are amazing; and I’ll get back to you on La Girolle after I dine there on Wednesday, if it’s worth mentioning, that is.)

Lovely chanterelles. (Internet file photo.)
