August Resolutions

So I got back to Siargao last Friday and, so far, I’ve been doing the following everyday:

  • walking the dog – 2+ km.
  • bicycling – 10+ km. +
  • swimming – 1+ km.

Except on Friday, of course. I arrived in the afternoon and only had enough willpower for a swim.

It’s all very low impact. I do everything at a verrrrry leisurely pace.

So I have to do more, especially since I’m still eating regularly.

If I don’t, this sign may pertain to me.

While I have cut down on the amount of food I am shoveling into my mouth and am making an attempt at Paleo (- I’ve only been successful the last two days), I still haven’t made a commitment to it because:

(a) I’m incapable of commitment, and

(b) I have too many goodies in the refrigerator and another play date with Lily lined up to be serious about Paleo right now.

But now that Nicolas is gone for the week, there’s no way I can walk both Great Danes at the same time so I guess I’ll have to walk the dogs separately, which will up my distance to 4+ km.

I was also thinking of doing some yoga and maybe Jillian Michaels’ “30 Day Shred” again, but I haven’t mustered the courage for any of that stuff just yet.

Yes, I did finish the World’s Largest Gym Class’ July Challenge. Sort of. Okay, I’m lying. I didn’t. I did everything but the last set of push-ups. Well, first of all, because I did the last set in my hotel room in Dumaguete and there wasn’t enough space (or will) in the room for push-ups. And then I just couldn’t be bothered because 70 is a hell of a lot of push-ups. Yeah, yeah. I’ll do them. It’s just a question of when.

Which is why I didn’t join the August Challenge. It has lunges and more push-ups and finishes at 115 reps. Um, no thanks.

Ah, shit. I just looked it over again and maybe I will catch up and do it.

Tomorrow. I’ll just break down the push-ups into several sets throughout the day.

Wish me luck! I have to lose at least five kilos. Anything more will be a bonus.
