Breaking The Fast Fast!

Breaking The Fast Fast!

After following the instructions for breaking the fast, by 11 AM, we were ready to eat. I ordered a wheatgrass piñacolada (wheatgrass, pineapple and coconut milk), raw lasagna, and scrambled eggs with vegetables. I had them in that order.

Wheatgrass piñacolada.

The raw lasagna turned out to be different from the one I had in Bali. Apart from macademia nuts and cucumbers, I’m not sure what else was in it. And the scrambled eggs weren’t what I expected either. The tiniest of vegetables were scrambled in the eggs themselves and I could only identify bits of cauliflower, pumpkin and tomatoes. It was yummy though and I might have it again for breakfast tomorrow. (I wonder if pumpkins are allowed on Paleo…)

By 2:30 PM, we were hungry again. This time I had the “Faster Blaster” juice to start with which was a yummy concoction of raw cocoa, coconut and prunes. And then I had “Toi’s Shrimp”, sauteed in butter, garlic, onions, tomatoes and sweet basil. Yummmmmmmmmm.

By 6:30, we were ready for dinner. I had the “Pure Energy Drink” (pineapple, strawberry, mango and banana) and ordered the “Chef’s Avocado”, description of which was “half an avocado with mixed vegetables” and, from the specials board, I ordered fried softshell crab.

The drink was yummy, as usual. And because I ordered my main before I remembered to order the salad, it came out first but it was the wrong order. (They thought I was pointing to the mussels with yellow curry which was listed right above the softshell crab.) So I sent it back.

Then the avocado came which turned out to be some odd puree of avocado and veggies. I dipped my spoon in for a quick taste. Ack! It was sweeter than the Pure Energy Drink! There was no way I could eat it. I had to return it too. It’s a good thing they weren’t detoxing and grouchy as I had been the day before but were very nice and gracious about the whole thing.

The too sweet “Chef’s Avocado”.

I think we were all relieved when my softshell crab turned out exactly as I had expected.

Fried softshell crab. I removed all the bell peppers before I ate it. I don’t like bell peppers unless they’re completely cooked through.

I still haven’t gotten all the Paleo stuff down re what I can and cannot eat so I’m not sure how I fared today. But am not that concerned. Slowly but surely. I’ll get it right one day. I’ve started reading “The Primal Blueprint”. Of course, I’ve downloaded it onto Nicolas’ Kindle so I’m reading it in bits and pieces and am not sure when I’ll get around to reading it again since he himself has just downloaded ten billion books into it. Slowly but surely.

Of course, now I’m hungry again.
