I went to bed at around 1 AM last night. Tossed and turned. I left the alarm clock off. I figured I’d go to CrossFit whenever I woke up.
Which was at 6:15 AM. I stayed in bed, willing myself to go back to sleep. When that wasn’t happening, I got up and was at the gym before 7 AM.
Apparently, it’s Team WOD Week at CrossFit MNL – or something like that. Which would explain yesterday’s, well, and everyday’s row this week. We’re supposed to work in teams with the rower setting the pace, but since I was alone yesterday, RJ revised the WOD for me.
This morning, my teammates were Paolo, Mark, and Iza. WOD was 25 minutes AMRAPs of:
- 250 m. row – This was negotiated down from 500 m.
- medicine ball mountain climbers
- pull-ups
- lateral burpees – If you clicked on that link, we didn’t do it quite that way. We only did burpees on one side of the bar, did a lateral jump across and another one back, for one count.
I started off rowing, with Mark on the medicine ball, Paolo on the pull-ups and Iza on the burpees. It looked like we were the weaker team but, in the end, we made up the count in mountain climbers. The losing team had to do three 20-second chin-up holds. I’m glad it wasn’t us.
