Okay, last Saturday, I partied from about 4 PM to 6 AM. Very hard. I had about four hours of sleep, got up, then passed out shortly after dinner. I woke up once, at 4 AM. And then again when my alarm went off this morning at 6:15. I thought I had gotten enough rest, even if I was still feeling lethargic.
Apparently not.
I wanted to die throughout the whole WOD. I could feel the excesses of Saturday in my throat.
I started out with a 45-lb. barbell and then hit myself on the chin with it while doing the first round of push presses. That was nasty. For a while there, I was worried that I had bitten off my tongue. I had to stop and shake off the daze. For the subsequent rounds, I pyramided down to the 35-lb. bar.
I took my sweet time throughout the WOD as I really felt like shit.
Finished with a total score of 199.
Just goes to show that unhealthy practices don’t mix with trying to get fit. Unfortunately, I can’t accept that. I’ll need to find some middle ground as I think I am already disgustingly healthy as it is. It’s bad enough that I can’t eat peanut butter or doughnuts. I’m certainly not going to deny myself a good time every now and then.
Okay, I think I’ll be going back to sleep now…
