Today, we learned how to do the Sott’s press.

For practice, we had to do five sets of five in five minutes. Amazona #1, Nickey, has had an injured shoulder for a while so she used a PVC pipe. Amazona #2, Erin, for the first time ever (at least since I ‘ve joined CrossFit), used a 25-lb. bar. I used a 15-lb. bar.
WOD was for time:
10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
- Sott’s press – Rx was 85% of what one normally lifts for an overhead squat. Ummm… I don’t think so. Most everyone, including both Amazon women (Nickey stuck to the PVC pipe while Erin used the 35-lb. bar) and the men (except for two who added plates) used a bar. With those many reps, I stuck with the 15-lb. bar.
