Don’t be silly. Of course, I didn’t do all of that. The halo was fine. But the figure-of-8-to-hold? I kept dropping the kettlebell and had difficulty swinging it up to hold.

It’s obvious how much strength I lost since I stopped doing kettlebells last July. What I could already do with relative ease before, I am having trouble with now. It feels like I’m starting from zero all over again.

The chin-ups? Those, I could never do. For most of it, either Fred or John or both of them were practically lifting me. Fred kept suggesting different variations that I could try. He wasn’t quite getting it that I don’t have that kind of upper body strength. Not yet anyway. But I did try…

For the renegade rows, I pushed off a heavy set of bells but kept two light weights nearby to row with. I’ve always liked those but, this time, I couldn’t do the push-ups on my feet and did them on my knees instead.

Krav Maga was extra fun today. Groin kicks and counter-attacks to groin kicks!

The end drill was harsh. Then again, they’re always harsh.

One by one, we had to keep punching a bag while the others pushed or pulled at us. When time was up, we had to do 20 push-ups and 20 squats, then turn in place with our eyes closed until told to stop. After given a few moments to stabilize ourselves, when someone called out our name, we’d open our eyes and immediately fend off an attacker.

The end drills are supposed to hone our skills in recognizing what kind of attack we are facing and quickly adapt our response to it.

Fun stuff. Exhausting, but fun.
