Looking For Some… Motivation

Looking For Some… Motivation

I must admit, now that the kettlebell program has been scrapped, it’s very difficult for me to find the motivation to get myself to the gym.

While I do love Krav Maga, I need a regular, proper, intense workout.

This week, I only worked out three times:

  • Monday – P90X chest and back, Krav Maga
  • Wednesday – P90X shoulders and arms, Krav Maga
  • Friday – P90X chest and back, Krav Maga

I could have gone everyday this week, including this morning, but the thought of working out alone was uninspiring, so I didn’t bother. I almost didn’t make it yesterday because I knew there was a huge possibility that I would have to do the P90X on my own – and I did – but, at the very last minute, I managed to drag myself out of the house.

I had to remind myself that every day that I work out brings me a step closer towards my goals (- I have goals?), while every day that I skip out on is a missed opportunity.

Sure enough, yesterday, I found out that I can now swing the 32-kilo kettlebell.

In the absence of any cardio exercise, I try to do, at least, three sets of 20 kettlebell swings whenever I am at the gym. So far, I’ve been using the 28-kilo kettlebell. But, yesterday, mid-way through my last set, I picked up the 32-kilo kettlebell and found that I could swing it. (I only did ten reps.) Next week, I will try to work my way up to doing, at least, one set of 20 with it.
