I was comatose the whole weekend and only returned to life and resumed swimming last Monday. Today, I had my last session. Thank goodness. Getting up at a quarter to six everyday is no joke. I get so tired that, as soon as I get back to the apartment, I’m ready to hit the sack again.

Is that what it is?
The only advantage to getting an early start to the morning is that, by the time I am done swimming, a few meters away from the sports bar, the croissants and pain au chocolat are just coming out of Tymad’s oven… Ooh! You can imagine what a struggle it is for me not to head there everyday. But, since it is that time of month when I have to be full of sugar or I will rip the head of a bunny rabbit, I’ve been indulging since yesterday.

I’m talking two to three pains au chocolat , by the way. And, at least, one pain au raisin. So much for discipline. And, yes, I weigh two billion pounds. But that’s for another blog entry.

This is a typical French pain au raisin but, according to Philippe Estienne, proprietor and chef of Tymad Bistrot, the Cebuanos prefer cranberries so the Tymad version features cranberries instead of raisins. A most wonderful innovation, I have to concur.(Internet file photo.)
Now for the inevitable… Sugar crash. Good night.
