I woke up from my nap at 3 PM, tired and groggy. I wanted to bury my head under my pillow and go back to sleep. But I had to go to CrossFit. I had only done one pathetic WOD the entire time I was in Siargao and had to minus all these points due to alcohol intake and lack of sleep. Poor Herb and Nickey. They had to have a degenerate for a teammate.
I dragged myself out of bed, got changed and was almost out of the house when I got a text from the BFF. “Party now. Come over!”
“I’m on my way to CrossFit,” I texted back. I slunked by the curb, waiting for a cab. For a Saturday afternoon, the street was quiet. The minutes ticked by and I started to panic. I wasn’t going to make it to CrossFit on time.
I left it to fate. “If a cab doesn’t come along in five minutes, I’m going back home to change, then I’m heading over to yours,” I texted the BFF. Just as I hit the “send” button, a cab drove by. It was dropping off a passenger at a nearby village. The driver indicated that he’d come back for me. Damn!
Fortunately for me – and unfortunately for my teammates – the cab took it’s sweet time depositing its passenger. By my calculations, by the time it got back to me and we drove to CrossFit, the WOD would be underway. I saw it as a clear message: The Fates wanted me to party. Who was I to argue? I legged it back home, changed my clothes and texted the BFF, “See you in a bit!”

It’s 4 PM, Sunday afternoon. I’ve just gotten home. I guess I’ve missed CrossFit today too.
Suffice it to say that with the amount of alcohol imbibed and cigarettes smoked, I have zero points for yesterday. And due to the need for uncontrolled binging today, I am definitely minusing points for carbs and sugar. I will be getting a lot of sleep tonight though. That should count for something. Two points, to be exact.
