Made it to CrossFit today, even if I was out celebrating Kylie Minogue’s Aphrodite concert with beer and Jägermeister shots at Draft till two in the morning.

Warm-up was same as Mondays:
- 5 mins. jump rope
- 20 push-ups
- 20 squats
WOD was four rounds of the following, within 25 minutes:
I only got as far as doing 15 clap push-ups of the fourth round.
Bear in mind that I’ve scaled everything down to my fitness level. For instance, there is no way on earth that I could possibly do a chest-to-bar pull-up. Well, not just yet. I have rather useless shoulders and zero upper body strength. So there are these bands we can use to help propel us up. But I was still pretty lame.
The push-ups, I do on my knees. And, as instructed, I let my chest go all the way to the floor, release my hands then push-up. Still a bitch when you have to do 25 of them.
And I only lifted 12 kilos for the kettlebell high pull, instead of the recommended 16 kilos. I don’t think my back is at 100% and get weird tingles in my feet so I’m still taking it easy with the weights.
This is only my eighth CrossFit session and one of the girls who has been doing CrossFit for three months thinks I’m doing pretty well for a newbie.
